Effective June 16, 2026
These Terms cover your use of The Mother. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. We've tried to keep the language human; if anything is unclear, write us.
The service
The Mother is a personal planning and productivity app. We may add, change, or remove features as the product grows. We'll try not to break things you rely on without warning.
Your account
- Use accurate information when you sign up.
- Keep your password to yourself — you're responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country).
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- Use the app for anything illegal or abusive.
- Try to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
- Scrape data or attempt to access accounts that aren't yours.
- Resell or rent access to the service without our written permission.
Your content
Everything you put into The Mother — projects, tasks, plans, notes — stays yours. You grant us the limited, non-exclusive license needed to host, display, and back up that content so the app can actually work for you. Nothing more.
Third-party services
If you connect Google Calendar (or any other integration), your use of that service is also governed by their terms. We're not responsible for changes they make on their end.
Paid features
The core app is free. If you subscribe to a paid add-on (such as billing and invoicing), you'll see the price clearly before you commit. You can cancel any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period and we won't issue refunds for partial months unless required by law.
Disclaimer
The Mother is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the service reliable and your data safe, but we can't promise it will never go down, lose data, or have bugs. Don't rely on it as the sole record for anything legally or medically critical.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or USD $50 if the service was free for you).
Termination
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that violate these Terms or that put the service or other users at risk.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located there, unless local consumer-protection law gives you the right to a different venue.
Changes
We may update these Terms. When we do, we'll change the effective date above and, for material changes, give you notice inside the app or by email.
