How we handle your data

Effective June 16, 2026

The Mother is a personal planning tool. We collect only what we need to run the app for you, and we don't sell your data — ever. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

The Mother ("we," "us") is operated by the team behind The Mother. You can reach us at hello@themother.app for any privacy question or request.

What we collect

  • Account info: the email address and display name you sign up with.
  • What you create in the app: projects, daily priorities, tasks, time blocks, and the settings you choose.
  • Google Calendar data (only if you connect it): read-only access to your calendar events so we can display them alongside your blocks. We do not write, modify, or delete anything on your Google Calendar.
  • Basic technical data: standard server logs (IP, browser, timestamps) used to keep the service running and secure.

How we use it

  • To run the app — sign you in, save your plans, sync your day across devices.
  • To display your Google Calendar events next to your planned blocks (if you've connected Google).
  • To keep the service secure and debug issues when something breaks.
  • To make the product better over time.

We do not sell your data, rent it, or use it for advertising.

Google user data

If you connect your Google account, The Mother's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • We request the minimum scope needed: read-only access to your calendar.
  • Calendar data is used solely to display your events inside The Mother so you can plan around them.
  • We do not transfer Google user data to third parties for advertising, market research, or any unrelated purpose.
  • We do not use Google user data to train AI or machine-learning models.
  • You can disconnect Google at any time from inside the app, which revokes our access.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure (Supabase, hosted on Amazon Web Services). It is scoped per user — only you can read or change your own rows. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

Your rights

You can:

  • Access and edit your data inside the app at any time.
  • Disconnect Google Calendar from inside the app.
  • Request a copy of your data or delete your account by emailing hello@themother.app.

Deleting your account removes your data from our active systems.

Cookies and local storage

We use the minimum cookies and local-storage entries needed to keep you signed in and remember small UI preferences. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

The Mother is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll remove the account.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you inside the app or by email.
